About Us
The Association of African Universities (AAU), under its Strategic Plan (2016 – 2020), recognized the importance of effective communication in enhancing engagement with its stakeholders. This initiative revealed a significant gap in the landscape of African higher education: the absence of a dedicated television network. Seizing this opportunity, the AAU established AAU TV in April 2018, positioning it as a key strategic unit within the Association.
AAU TV was created to be the voice of African higher education, dedicated to producing content tailored specifically for the educational community across the continent. It seeks to “shine the light” on the innovations emerging from Africa’s educational institutions, providing a platform where both the academic community and the general public can access and benefit from these advancements. By enhancing the educational experience for students, faculty, and staff at member universities, AAU TV plays a pivotal role in promoting knowledge and innovation.
Located at the AAU Headquarters in Accra, Ghana, AAU TV embraces emerging social media and information technology tools, using them to share compelling narratives about African higher education.
